Mandate not ruling out strike action at Tesco
Thursday, 23 April 2009
The Mandate trade union says it is not ruling out strike action at Tesco stores across the country to protest at new working arrangements being sought by the British retailer.
The union claims the proposals would see workers take a reduction in wages along with changes to their terms and conditions of employment.
Shop stewards have met to discuss the situation and have branded the Tesco move as "opportunistic" in the wake of the company announcing profits of €3.5bn on Tuesday.
