The number of new businesses being set up in Ireland has fallen by 20% so far this year, according to Bank of Ireland.
The bank says the decline was evident across all sectors and regions, with Dublin suffering the biggest drop.
Cork and Kildare have also experienced significant reductions in the number of businesses being established.
Elsewhere, the bank says the number of company failures was also down in the most recent quarter.
