50 Cent will co-star with Val Kilmer in Gun

Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson and Val Kilmer are to star in a drama set in the world of drug dealing.

Gun, which is based on an original story by the US rapper, will be directed by Jessy Terrero, who was at the helm of one of 50's music videos.

The film, also starring Charles Malik Whitfield, will start shooting in Grand Rapids, Michigan, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Fiddy, as the hip-hop star is referred to, is proving to be a force in film.

He made his movie debut starring in 2005's autobiographical drama Get Rich Or Die Tryin' and has also had roles in Righteous Kill, Before I Self Destruct and Dead Man Running.
