A teenage boy has been arrested and charged in connection with a theft at Susan Boyle's home.

The incident happened at the 48-year-old singer's house in Blackburn, West Lothian, on January 26, when she disturbed an intruder when she returned home from London where she had been recording the Helping Haiti charity single.

At the time she said the incident was "nothing to worry about".

Lothian and Borders Police said: "A 16-year-old youth has been arrested and charged in connection with a theft that happened at a property in Yule Terrace, Blackburn, on January 26.

"He will now be subject to a report to the Children's Reporter."

SuBo, a church worker, became an international star when her performance of a song from the musical Les Miserables wowed the audience and judges on TV show Britain's Got Talent last year.

Her album, I Dreamed A Dream, went straight to No 1 in the charts and achieved the best first week's sale for a debut.

Despite her fame, she has not moved from the council house she has lived in since she was a child.

Gritty, moving and heroic...Billy plays captured life here

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times ... Sunday's 30th anniversary screening of the seminal Too Late to Talk to Billy was riveting viewing. But it wasn't nostalgic viewing.

Why trying to go on a diet is never really a piece of cake

Some people make New Year’s resolutions, I make lists. Every new year I determine to keep track of everything I spend and everything I eat and drink.

Scary movie? Their jaws were sore from laughing

Teenage boys love horror films and I have two who are in charge of the remote control in our house, so naturally there’s gore-a-plenty on the box most weekends. However, until recently one film was banned.
