Gardai say skull found in Dublin was 100 years old

Tuesday, 14 August 2007

Gardai say the skull discovered in a garden in south Dublin yesterday was that of a man who died a century ago.

The skull was found wrapped in a plastic bag by a tenant who was tidying up the rear of a rented house in the Knocklyon area.

There had been media speculation that it may be that of Kenyan man Farah Swaleh Noor, who was killed and decapitated by Dublin sisters Charlotte and Linda Mulhall in 2005.

However, the Gardai confirmed today that the skull belonged to a man aged between 25 and 40 who died approximately 100 years ago.

His identity is not known, but he is believed to have died of natural causes.
