Monday, March 24, 2008

A man in his 70's has died in hospital following a house fire in Co Down on Good Friday.

The blaze broke out in his home in Rathgill Place in Bangor on Friday evening.

The dead man's wife remains in hospital and is understood to have serious injuries related to smoke inhalation.

Police say inquiries into the fire are ongoing but there is nothing to suggest that it was malicious at present.
