A 19-year-old man has appeared before Drogheda District Court charged with the murder of a 41-year-old man in Co. Louth.

Keith Cunnigham of Halpin€s Terrace, Drogheda has been charged with the murder of Desmond Kimmins in Rathmullen Park, Drogheda last year.

The father of two from Ballsgrove in Drogheda died after being stabbed a number of times in the chest on December 30th.

The court heard the accused replied 'I didn€t mean to kill him, I never meant for any of this to happen€ when cautioned.

He has been remanded in custody to Cloverhill prison until the 17th of April.
