Lightning-struck Dublin teenager dies in hospital

A 14-year-old boy has died in hospital this morning after being struck by lightening in Dublin yesterday afternoon.

The incident happened at Kilclare Gardens in Tallaght at 4.30pm.

It is understood that the teenager was playing at a green area in the estate at the time.

He was taken to hospital where efforts to save his life failed.

A spokesperson for the hospital has said that he passed away in the early hours of this morning.
