Four fire service units battle blaze at Co Kildare meat factory

Fire fighters in Kildare were this afternoon battling a major blaze at a meat factory on the edge of the Curragh.

It's understood the fire broke out at the Chillen factory on the old Dublin road at around 4 o' clock this afternoon.

Four units of the fire service were called to the scene.

The factory has been evacuated and Gardai said no one was injured.

Black smoke resulted in reduced visibility for motorists using the.
