Unions and management to discuss future of Kildare jobs
Monday, 12 May 2008
Union representatives are expected to meet management of the Kildare Chilling company later today amid fears for the future of 350 jobs at the plant.
A major fire on Friday is thought to have caused extensive damage to at least two of the three main production lines at the meat processing facility.
The company has been a significant employer for the people of Kildare town since the 1960s.
The full implications of the fire are expected to become clear during today's talks between unions and management.
