HSE defends spending on childcare services
Tuesday, 13 May 2008
The Health Services Executive has insisted there have been significant increases in the money put into children's services over the past year.
The HSE was responding to last night's Prime Time Investigates television programme claimed the executive's recruitment embargo is damaging services and putting young people at risk of abuse.
The HSE has said its Family Support funding rose by 79 percent between 2003 and 2007 and that last year 460 million euro was spent on Children and Family Services.
