Swimmer dies after getting into difficulty in Limerick

A post mortem is due to be carried out later today on the body of a swimmer who died in the River Shannon in Limerick yesterday evening.
The man, who was in his 30s and from Moyross, is understood to have got into difficulty while swimming near the Thomondgate area of the city just before 6pm.
The alarm was raised by a friend and his body was recovered by divers around two hours later near Barrack Lane Boat Club.
