Constitution fails to reflect nature of Irish families

A support group for one-parent families says the definition of the family in the Irish Constitution is completely out of touch with reality.
One Family says one-in-six Irish families are headed by just one parent and the Constitution should be amended to reflect this reality.
It says the forthcoming referendum on child protection would be an ideal opportunity to extend full rights to all families and not just those based on marriage.
