Unions to discuss proposals in psychiatric nurses' dispute
Friday, May 16, 2008
Unions representing psychiatric nurses are meeting today to discuss proposals aimed at ending their dispute with the HSE over compensation for nurses who are attacked at work.
The proposals were put forward by the Labour Relations Commission this week following several days of talks with the two parties.
Members of SIPTU and the Psychiatric Nurses Association have been refusing to work overtime for the past two weeks as part of the dispute.
The situation has led to ward closures at mental health facilities throughout the country.
