Cervical cancer awareness campaign launches in Dublin
Saturday, May 17, 2008
A campaign to raise awareness about cervical cancer here is being launched later.
The TELL HER road show will encourage women to learn more about the silent disease which kills 73 women a year in Ireland.
An average of 209 women will be diagnosed with the disease this year.
Virtually all cervical cancer is caused by a virus that 80 percent of sexually active women become infected with at some point in their lifetime.
