The man and woman, aged 51 and 52, were arrested separately in Athlone on Friday morning and were questioned by Gardai in Longford and Athlone.
They were released this afternoon and Gardai say a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The 48-year-old was found dead in a rented house at Valleycourt in Athlone just over a week ago.
Gardai say she suffered a number of injuries but a post mortem was unable to determine the exact cause of her death.
