Cork man in court on Northern Bank money-laundering charges

A 33-year-old man has been remanded on bail in connection with money laundering offences arising out of investigations into the 2004 Northern Bank raid.

Timothy John Cunningham of Church View, Farran in Cork, appeared before Cork District Court earlier today.

He was accused of transferring €200,000 Sterling to a named individual, knowing or believing it to be the proceeds of the Northern Bank robbery in Belfast.

He was also accused of possessing €3 million Sterling, knowing or believing it to be the proceeds of the raid.

Mr Cunningham is due to appear again before the court on Wednesday.
