Countrywide events to mark National Play Day
Sunday, 6 July 2008
Events are taking place across the country today to mark National Play Day.
The main objective is to raise awareness of the benefits of play for children.
Families around Ireland are invited to take part in activities such as kite flying and giant pillow fights, which are being co-ordinated by local authorities.
Organisers of the day say play has obvious physical benefits for children including improving motor skills, balance and co-ordination.
