Job vacancies fall

Tuesday, 13 May 2008

The number of firms reporting job vacancies in the private sector is at its lowest level since 2005.

The FAS / ESRI Employment and Vacancies Survey reveals that the figure fell to seven per cent in April - three points lower than the previous month.

The number of jobs in the Industry, Services and Retail sectors is on the decline, but there was a slight increase in the number of vacancies in construction.
