480 Pfizer jobs on the line after collapse of plant sale

Friday, 4 July 2008

Almost 500 jobs are reported to be on the line in Cork due to problems with the sale of a Pfizer plant in the city.

Reports this morning say plans to sell the factory in Little Island have fallen through.

The collapse of the deal has reportedly left 480 jobs hanging in the balance at the Little Island facility and the company's other plant in Loughbeg.

If both operations are not sold by the end of 2009, they are due to close with the loss of all 480 jobs.
