Danish firm to lay off 71 workers in Co Offaly
Friday, 8 August 2008
A Danish company has announced plans to close its production facility in Co Offaly with the loss of 71 jobs.
Rationel, which manufactures timber windows and doors, plans to close the factory in Edenderry in November.
The company says the decision was taken due to the slowdown in the construction industry.
A sales and distribution centre will continue to operate from Edenderry for Rationel's other factories in Denmark and Poland.
