Clarification needed about Dell's future

Sunday, 5 October 2008

Fine Gael is calling on the government to clarify whether Dell is keeping its Limerick manufacturing plant.

3,000 workers remain in the dark over their future with the company, following reports the computer giant is to move its operations to Poland.

Minister for Enterprise Mary Coughlan and Defence Minister Willie O'Dea stated this week that no decision had yet been made by company management.

But reports in this morning's papers suggest the government has already been told Dell is to close its Irish base.
