Death of Irish survivor of International Brigade

The last surviving Irish member of the International Brigade which fought in the Spanish Civil War has died.

Bob Doyle who was born in Dublin in February 1916 died in London.

He had gone to Spain to fight for the Republican government against the Fascists in 1937 but was soon captured and spent most of his time in a prison camp before being released in 1939.

While I ADMIRE Bob Doyle's commitment to equality of the people surley after 90 years of life he must have at some stage seen the absolute similarity between National Socialism & Communist Socialism, 90 is ample time for self reflection
