Funerals of three PSNI officers underway in Co Down
Wednesday, 26 November 2008
Leading politicians and police chiefs have attended the first funeral to be held following the deaths of four PSNI officers in a road crash over the weekend.
The four died when their 4x4 vehicle hit a wall and burst into flames in Co Down early on Sunday morning.
Shops were closed and flags hung at half mast in Dromore today as 27-year-old old James Magee was laid to rest.
The single man, who had a masters degree in clinical psychology, had joined the PSNI just three years ago.
The funerals of Kevin Gorman and Kenny Irvine are also taking place today, while the fourth victim, Declan Greene, will be laid to rest tomorrow.
