Thursday, 13 November 2008

Almost one-in-five family carers in Ireland suffer from depression, according to the Irish College of Psychiatrists.

The organisation says 25% of carers have anxiety problems, while more than one-quarter suffer with back injury.

It also says 68% of carers who are diagnosed with depression feel that their condition has worsened because of their caring roles.
