Local TDs disappointed after Shannon talks with Mannion
Friday, 17 August 2007
Local TDs say they are disappointed following a meeting with Aer Lingus chief executive Dermot Mannion in Shannon today..
The airline boss is meeting various groups from the region today to explain the reasons behind axing flights to Heathrow.
After nearly 90 minutes of talks, TDs from all parties agree that the decision appears unlikely to be reversed.
Fianna Fail TD Timmy Dooley says he doesn't believe the airline has thought through its Belfast expansion plan and talk of improved profitability is aspirational rather than guaranteed.
