Energy minister to show support for Student Action on Climate Change
Saturday, 20 October 2007
The Minister for Energy and Natural Resources Eamon Ryan is to attend the launch of a new climate change movement in Dublin later today.
The Student Action on Climate Change campaign, which is supported by the Union of Students in Ireland, is aimed at reducing Ireland's carbon footprint.
It is hoped the movement will encourage consumers to make wiser choices and will also increase pressure on politicians and business leaders.
USI Environmental Awareness Officer Dave Curran hopes the campaign will unite people in a common purpose.
