Code of conduct for junk-food advertising to be signed into law

The Communications Minister has pledged to incorporate new EU-wide broadcasting rules into the upcoming Broadcasting Bill.
The European directive includes a code of conduct for junk food advertising in children's programmes, as well as new regulations about the amount of time which can be given over to advertising.
Eamon Ryan confirmed today that he planning to have the directive signed into Irish law this spring.
