Monday, May 12, 2008
The Taoiseach, Brian Cowen, has said Fianna Fail plans to mobilise all of its members to secure a 'yes' vote in the forthcoming Lisbon Treaty referendum.
Mr Cowen was speaking at the launch of his party's campaign to support the treaty.
He said every unit of Fianna Fail would distribute leaflets and canvass voters around the country.
He also said the party would hold a series of public meetings and "action days" aimed at promoting the treaty.
Meanwhile, the Government has today confirmed June 12th as voting day for the referendum.
Polls will be open between 7am and 10pm, with just over three million people entitled to vote.
The final date for applying to get on the supplement to the register is May 24th.
