Saturday, 5 July 2008
Sinn Fein says the Taoiseach must seize the opportunity to secure a better deal for Ireland than the Lisbon Treaty, when he attends the next meeting of the European Council in October.
MEP Mary Lou McDonald says Brian Cowen's next moves are crucial to Ireland's voice in Europe.
The party is holding a conference in Dublin today to review their campaign against Lisbon, and decide their next moves on pushing for an alternative.
Over 200 members of the party are attending the talks, chaired by party leader Gerry Adams.
