Cowen to visit EU big-three ahead of Brussels summit

Tuesday, 2 December 2008

The Taoiseach, Brian Cowen, is to visit the EU's most powerful member states over the coming days to discuss Ireland's plans for addressing the future of the Lisbon Treaty.

Mr Cowen will visit Berlin, London and Paris on Thursday and Friday ahead of next week's EU summit in Brussels.

The Irish Government has promised to put forward a plan at the summit for dealing with Ireland's rejection of the Lisbon Treaty.

Most observers believe a second referendum will be held late next year in an effort to overturn last June's result.

Don't be so negative Chris. At least you know what's happening. Here in Greece the people don't even know that they have signed up to the Lisbon Treaty. Its the same right across eastern Europe.
However I'm sure the BIG 3 of Angela, Gordon and Sarko will sort it all out. they are the ones who call the shots. At least the Belfast Telegraph knows where the real power lies. Anyway why not look at the bright side. Ireland may get its Commissioner back . They are saying here that your Mary Harney is odds on to get the job. Democracy? Forget it. We invented it here and it doesn't work.

Well Brian Cowen so far has got everything wrong, it is like a school kid saying what shall we try next to see if it works? The country wants positive leadreship, not ever increased taxes, stupid comments about "maybe we can tax people for buying shopping up in the north" Get the revenue commisioners to send the dog Warden out for the licence money, Oh and Mary Harney is a great health minister. I am off dont the fielsd now to look for all the fairies he assumes we believe in. This country will have an uprising very soon, we cannot and will not be walked over anymore. Get tourism going, get the prices down, get a decision concreted on financial help, revise the 300 year old laws on debt and help everyone forward without the fear of prison for owing a few bob. Murder, rape, child abuse a slap on the wrist! owe money in a recession brought about by the USA and a prison record is your first bit then no job, no money no home & suddenly Suicide looks a good option? Sound Familiar at all?
