Minister says Varadkar verges on racism
Friday, 5 September 2008
A Government Minister has said a Fine Gael TD is verging on being racist, because of his suggestion that unemployed foreign nationals could be given a lump sum to go home.
Mary Hanafin was reacting to comments made by Dublin West TD Leo Varadkar at the Oireachtas Committee on Enterprise, Trade and Employment.
He said they could be given up to six months worth of unemployment benefit, not to force them to go home, but as an option.
The Minister for Social and Family Affairs said it would be appalling to make such an offer and would verge on racism.

The same old "racist" crap
Varadkar is spot on. Jobs are leaving our country and still thousands come to our country every month.
A tleast FG are acknowledging we are facing a problem in terms of MASS immigration. Immigration is great if controlled. Immigration in Ireland is out of contro. Its at least 10%, likely 15% in reality. If it reaches 20% this country will fall apart. Its just not viable for a country to take on so many newcomers in such a short period of them and effectively integrate them into society.
For the first time in my life I'm turning my back on FF and voting FG, simply because they're at least willing to discuss a serious matter with screaming "racism"
PC BS.

Leo Varadkar's suggestions may be radical but given the fact he's half Indian (hence the surname), he's not exactly a candidate for the AWB now, is he?
