US military plane puncture forces Shannon runway closure
Monday, 15 December 2008
The runway at Shannon Airport was forced to close for a short time this afternoon after a tyre burst on a US military aircraft.
The Omni-Air International flight was taxiing when it happened.
A number of flights were delayed as a result, however the runway has now re-opened.
The aircraft, which carries military personnel from the US, was empty at the time.
