Westmeath beat Longford in Leinster Championship

Westmeath have booked a place in the Leinster quarter-finals after beating Longford in their championship opener at Pearse Park yesterday.
Westmeath won 2-10 to 1-10 to set up a meeting with Offaly in the next round.
Elsewhere, Tyrone and Monaghan were both victorious in the first round on the Ulster Championship yesterday.
