Lynch and Murphy injury concerns for Cork

Monday, May 12, 2008

Cork footballers Anthony Lynch and Nicholas Murphy are injury concerns for next month's championship opener against either Tipperary or Limerick next month.

Both picked up knocks in the second half of the Rebels' win over Laois in a challenge match at Crettyard at the weekend.

Elsewhere, Noel Garvan and Aidan Fennelly have become the latest high-profile Laois footballers to opt off the county panel ahead of the start of their Leinster championship campaign.

Both players have been dogged by injury this season and their withdrawal is another crushing blow to manager Liam Kearns, who has also lost the services of Brian 'Beano' McDonald in recent weeks.
