Meath players fail to overturn eight-week bans

Wednesday, May 14, 2008

The five Meath players who appealed their suspensions following the recent violent clashes at Parnell Park have failed to overturn the punishments.

Seamus Kenny, Niall McKeigue, Shane McAnarney, Brendan Murphy and Nigel Crawford had all challenged their eight-week bans before the GAA's Central Appals Committee.

However, the committee has upheld the suspensions for all five players.

It has also upheld the eight-week ban handed down to Bernard Brogan, the only Dubliner to appeal his punishment following the Parnell Park melee.
