Asia take 3-1 lead over Europe in Thailand
Friday, 9 January 2009
Asia have taken a 3-1 leader over Europe as they look for their first-ever victory at the Ryder Cup-style Royal Trophy in Thailand.
Europe were ahead twice in all four matches today, but the hosts have the lead after the completion of the foursomes.
China's Liang Wen-chong and South Korea's Charlie Wi won the last three holes to finish two up against Paul McGinley and Spain's Pablo Larrazabal.
It was the Irishman's first defeat in three appearances at the event.
