Saturday, 21 June 2008
Free Agent gave The Queen a first winner at Royal Ascot since 1999 with a battling success in the Chesham Stakes, the opening race on the final day of the 2008 meeting.
The Queen was at the Berkshire track to see the Richard Hannon-trained youngster take the seven-furlong contest.
Held up in the rear by Richard Hughes in the early stages, the 7-2 joint-favourite came from last to first to win by two and a quarter lengths from the other market leader, Seaway.
Markyg was third.
