Lleyton Hewitt crashes out of Australian Open

Home favourite Lleyton Hewitt has crashed out of the Australian Open after losing his first-round clash with Fernando Gonzalez today.
The 27-year-old was defeated in a marathon five-set clash with last year's runner-up in Melbourne.
In the women's draw, meanwhile, Serena and Venus Williams both went through to the second round today with straight sets victories.
Serena beat China's Yuan Meng 6-3, 6-2, while Venus beat Germany's Angelique Kerber 6-3, 6-3.
