Wednesday, 22 July 2009
Ireland's Nicolas Roche will be aiming for another strong performance on the 17th stage of the Tour de France today.
The son of 1980s cycling star Stephen Roche is up to 30th in the overall standings after finishing fourth in yesterday's stage.
The 25-year-old also finished second in Sunday's stage.
Spain's Alberto Contador still has the yellow jersey and a 97-second lead over seven-times champion Lance Armstrong.
Today's stage takes the riders on a 170km trek from Bourg-Saint-Maurice to Le Grand-Bornand.
