Connacht suffer multiple injury blows
Friday, 5 January 2007
Connacht's Keith Matthews may be ruled out until next season,
The three-quarter suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury in the closing stages of Sunday's 14-8 defeat to Munster at the Sportsground in Galway.
Matthews will have a scan on the damaged knee next week to discover the full extent of the injury but coach Michael Bradley is not confident of a return to action this season.
Meanwhile, flanker John Muldoon and lock forward David Gannon have been ruled out for the next four to six weeks.
Muldoon cracked his cheekbone during Sunday's encounter with Munster while Gannon damaged ankle ligaments in the early stages of the same game.
