Casey named Ireland A captain

Thursday, May 15, 2008

London Irish skipper Bob Casey has been named captain of Ireland A for next month's Churchill Cup.

The 28-year-old lock will link up with the squad after his involvement with the senior side's match against the Barbarians on May 27.

Former Ireland scrum-half Dave O'Mahony has also been confirmed as coach Allen Clarke's assistant for the tournament.

Ireland A will play USA and England Saxons in Canada on June 11 and 14, respectively, with the competition's final scheduled to take place in Chicago on June 21.
