Wallabies claim 2nd Test win for Deans against France
Saturday, 28 June 2008
Three second-half tries saw the Wallabies romp comfortably home against a new-look France side in their first Test in Australia.
The home side only lead by 10-6 at the break thanks to an early Matt Giteau self-converted try and a penalty to two three-pointers from Francois Trinh-Duc, who started at outside centre today.
But three scores in quick succession after the resumption, by Nathan Sharpe, Rocky Elsom and Stirling Mortlock killed off the game with Giteau making all the conversions and adding a second penalty.
Impressive debutant Alexis Palisson grabbed a late touchdown for the French but a second win under new Wallabies coach Robbie Deans was beyong doubt
