Bruce wants Muamba to make Birmingham move permanent
Sunday, 14 January 2007
Birmingham boss Steve Bruce has admitted he would like to sign England Under-19 captain Fabrice Muamba on a permanent basis from Arsenal.
Muamba is on loan from the Gunners for the season and has played a major role in the Blues` rise to the top of the Coca-Cola Championship.
However, Bruce would be happy to tie up the services of 18-year-old Muamba on a long-term basis if Arsenal were prepared to sell.
"We are delighted with the contribution of Fabrice and I know Arsene Wenger wants him to get a football education with us," said Bruce.
"But if Arsenal wanted to make him available, we would listen. However, I would think January would be too early to discuss any permanent move."
