Kiely back but not Ireland, O Brien or Finnan

Giovanni Trapattoni has announced his squad for the forthcoming training in Portugal and matches against Serbia and Columbia.

Stephan Ireland, Andy O'Brien and Steve Finnan are not included.

One player who has already accepted Trapattoni's request to return is goalkeeper Dean Kiely who opted out of the international squad in 2003.

He is named as one of the three goalkeepers in the squad.

An initial squad of 20 players will travel to Portugal for training ahead of the forthcoming matches against Serbia and Columbia.

John O'Shea, Aiden McGeady, Darren O'Dea, Richard Dunne and Robbie Keane will not travel to Portugal but will link up with the squad on their return to Dublin.

Shay Given, Lee Carsley, Kevin Kilbane, Steven Reid, Darron Gibson and Joey O'Brien were ruled out of the squad because of injury.

The full squad:

Goalkeepers: Colin Doyle, Dean Kiely and Joe Murphy

Defenders: Alex Bruce, Damien Delaney, Richard Dunne, Kevin Foley, Stephen Kelly, Paul McShane, Darren O Dea and John O Shea.

Midfielders: Damien Duff, Owen Garvan, Darron Gibson, Wes Hoolahan, Stephen Hunt, Aiden McGeady, Stephen McPhail, Liam Miller, Darren Potter, Andy Reid, Martin Rowlands, Sean Scannell, Glen Whelan

Attackers: Kevin Doyle, Robbie Keane, Andy Keogh, Shane Long, Daryl Murphy.
