Liverpool sign Philipp Degen on free transfer

Liverpool have taken the first move in a widely expected overhaul of their squad by signing Switzerland defender Philipp Degen on a free transfer.
The 25-year-old right back will leave Borussia Dortmund for Anfield in July, when his contract with the Bundesliga club expires.
However, he won't be linking up with Liverpool until after the Euro 2008 finals.
