Man U accept £80m Madrid offer for Ronaldo

Manchester United have accepted a world-record offer of £80m for Cristiano Ronaldo from Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The 24-year-old Portuguese midfielder has been a long-term target of the Spanish club.

In a statement on their website this morning, Manchester United confirmed that they had accepted an "unconditional" offer of £80m for the player.

The Premier League champions say Ronaldo has expressed a desire to leave Old Trafford and they expect the matter to be concluded by June 30th.
