Rooney returns to boyhood club Everton

Saturday, 25 October 2008

In form Wayne Rooney returns to his boyhood club Everton wearing the red of Manchester United this afternoon as the champions seek their seventh straight win in all competitions in the noon kick-off.

The striker, who celbrated his 23rd birthday yesterday, continued his rich vein of form with a goal against Celtic midweek, and will hope to score his 100th career goal at Goodison Park.

His manager Alex Ferguson hopes his run of good luck will continue.
