Friday, 24 July 2009

St Patrick's Athletic and Derry City are both through to the third qualifying round of the Europa League after victories last night.

St Pat's will go on to face Russian side Krylya Sovetov Samara after a 1-0 win in the second leg of their clash with Valetta in Malta.

Declan O'Brien scored a late goal for the Dubliners to secure a 2-1 aggregate victory.

Derry, meanwhile, also beat Latvian outfit Skonto Riga 1-0 last night and 2-1 on average thanks to a goal from Kevin Deery.

They will now go on to face CSKA Sofia of Bulgaria.
