Trapattoni looking for good performance in Oslo
Wednesday, 20 August 2008
Giovanni Trapattoni will be looking for a good performance from his Irish squad this evening when they face Norway in a friendly clash in Oslo.
Steve Finnan is back in the Irish squad for the warm-up tie ahead of next month's World Cup qualifiers.
Elsewhere, Stephen Reid will undergo a late fitness test after picking up a knee injury, with Liam Miller waiting in the wings should he fail to pass the test.
Meanwhile, Georgia have confirmed that they will appeal a FIFA decision to hold next month's World Cup qualifier against Ireland in a neutral venue.
The Georgians have been given until next Tuesday to name a suitable venue after FIFA ruled that the match should be moved from Tblisi due to the recent conflict between Georgia and Russia.
